We’re delighted that Scottish Artists Union (SAU) has commissioned Hack Aye to undertake an organisational review to help drive the Union’s development over the next few years. We’ll be exploring different ways to engage the membership and other interested parties in research and consultation throughout the project.

To kick-start this process, three hack events are planned in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness during the first week of July 2016. During the events participants will collaborate to hack SAU, breaking the Union down into its component parts and exploring how it could best function going forward. Your input and ideas are the central component in this process, so come along and have your say on questions such as:

• What do you want from your trade union?
• How much are you willing to pay for subscriptions?
• Would you like to take part in trade union activism?
• Would you like to take part in training and education for artists?

Following these hack events we will be conducting research into artists’ unions around the world and building the results into plans to be presented at SAU’s Annual General Meeting in September 2016.
